My friend and I had a lovely surprise yesterday on our walk through the fields, the grasses were very wet due to the rain of the night before, but it did not stop us from heading towards the gravel works with soaked trousers up to the knees. As we tumble along I look down and see what we have been hunting for the past few days!!! The beautiful Bee orchids! There they were in an unexpected place last year and the previous years we always found them in the field and we were disappointed at not spotting them on previous walks.
And here they were on the footpath! least to say we came home very wet but very happy.
We always arrive home feeling energized....
